Why didn't I get my storage back right away?

Deleted photos stay in Recently Deleted and keep using storage until iOS removes them, about 30 days later. To clear them sooner, open Photos, go to Collections, then Recently Deleted. Tap Select, pick the photos, tap the More button, then tap Delete. This can't be undone.

How do I get back a photo I deleted?

Open Recently Deleted in the Photos app, select the photo and recover it. This works until iOS permanently removes it.

Why were some photos skipped?

Photos stored only in iCloud with no preview on your iPhone can't be checked. The app tells you how many were skipped.

Why does "Look the same" need checking?

These photos match closely but aren't exact copies. Edited versions and burst shots can land in the same group, so look at them before you delete anything.
